AaI&A Subscription Fees for 2010
Last September I quietly did away with the tiered subscription fee structure and lowered the annual membership fee. When I started the digital print research program in 2008, my idea was to give amateurs a lower rate than professional printmakers and professionals a lower rate than corporate subscribers. It was an honor system, and for the most part new members honored the rates. A special thanks to all of AaI&A's "early adopters". That said, the AaI&A business model is a work in progress, and I decided to test the waters with a lower flat rate to bring in more members more quickly. This idea has worked, albeit modestly.
AaI&A will continue to follow this flat rate model for 2010. The annual membership fee for 2010 is just $25 for an individual membership. If you belong to a company or organization that would like to consider becoming a group sponsor (group rates are at even lower prices), please contact us.
Again, I want to thank all of my current members. We are getting some very interesting light fade tests accomplished. I'm learning, and I'm working on some new tutorials for the website that should help everyone to understand the test results better as well. I also want to move faster and expand the program to other print permanence and print quality attributes, but I need more support from the digital photography and printmaking community.
So, for those non members reading this post, please consider skipping a few meals at your local fast food restaurant this year and applying the funds to the AaI&A digital print research program. That way you will gain some knowledge and friends here at AaI&A and perhaps lose a few pounds in the process!
Thanks,
